Launch of PGS (Preloved Give and Sale) Boutique and PGS Carnival
Pekan, 19 October – In order to support the practice of 5S implemented at Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), the 5S Library Committee in collaboration with Cluster Waste (Eco Green) has launched a PGS (Preloved Give and Sale) Boutique on 19 October 2016 at UMP Library Pekan.
The event was launched by the Director of the Occupational Safety and Health Management Office, Mr. Muhammad Hairynizam Muhd Taib who is also the Chairman of Waste Cluster (Eco Green) and PGS Boutique sponsor. Also present were Mr. Nasir Talib, Head of Facilities Unit Kuantan Municipal Council to give talk about recycling and 3R. In conjunction with this event was also held PGS Carnival and exhibition from 19 to 21 October 2016.
Director of the event, Hajah Siti Aishah Ghani said the main purpose of PGS is to collect used items, create awareness about recycling and give the opportunity to citizens to donate and get the used items. The event began with a demo session of recyclable items and lucky draws. Visitors do not miss the opportunity to get items for free at PGS boutique or pay at a lower price.
It is hoped that this event will benefit to the citizens of UMP and is an effort to support towards a green campus and rating achievement of UI Green Matrix that are being implemented by university.
