Knowledge Management Centre (KMC) was established in February 2002 in accordance with the establishment of KUKTEM . KUKTEM an Institution of Higher Learning (IPTA) is the 16th which was gazetted on 16 February 2002. On 1 February 2007 KUKTEM was re branding Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), in accordance with the KMC has also been given a new lease with the name of UMP Library
In 2009, the library was moved to the new building an area of 6,000 square meters and is able to provide comfort to the 1,200 users at any one time.
After nine years of operation in Gambang, the Library has received permanent building in Pekan Campus with an area of 16,000 square meters. The new building is able to accommodate of 3,000 users at one time. Even though we had moved to a new building but the Library at Gambang still operating for our users.
UMP library has a copy of the printed material more than 120,000 copies. Approximately 109,768 ebook titles comprised of one time purchased & subscribe ebooks and 24 subscribed databases & journals. The material covers the field of engineering, engineering technology, computer & applied sciences as well as management human sciences. While the UMP is a technical university but to produce graduates who are competent and comprehensive knowledge, the materials in the areas of education, entrepreneurship, religious and other public readings also available. With UMP Library new open-source Integrated Library System (ILS) KOHA, users can retrieve information regarding materials needed available in the library.
