Program Pemantapan Kompetensi Pembantu Pustakawan: Mudahnya Mengurus Rujukan (10th Session) - 25th Nov 2021

The 10th session of the Assistant Librarian Competency Enhancement Program, a librarian sharing activity with assistant librarians, was held on November 25, 2021.This session was presented by Mrs. Affida Abu Bakar from the Education & Research Section. From 10 am to 11 am, a total of 34 participants participated in this session entitled Easily Manage References.

The objective of this session is to identify the library's responsibilities and role in assisting users, particularly students, with their assignments, writing, and research. Every member of the library staff plays an important role in a student's journey to produce or complete the assignment given by the lecturer. In fact, the library plays an important role in ensuring that students graduate with honours. The library, for example, offers a comprehensive collection of resources and services that support the learning process.

Collections and reference materials are the most important materials used by students. Through this session the participants were exposed to the importance of the students managing each reference source they obtained. Students can manage their reference sources manually or use the reference manager tools more effectively with continuous support and assistance from the library. Before the session ended, participants were shown hands-on an easy way for beginners to use the reference manager tool. It is hoped that this session can provide a clear picture to all participants that the current needs in managing references is very important. Thus, library staff should be prepared to provide information to students so that they can manage their references properly.
