Knowledge Sharing Session: Turnitin Management at Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) Library with Tunku Azizah Knowledge Centre Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UNIKL)

The Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) Library has been invited to share their experience in managing Turnitin accounts with approximately 23 staff of the Tunku Azizah Knowledge Centre Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UNIKL). The session was conducted on 20th January, 2023, at 9.30 am via Microsoft Teams. The main purpose of the session was to share knowledge and best practices on how the UMP Library manages and administers Turnitin, including the budget implications, services provided to staff and students and the challenges and difficulties in managing the platform.

The session was conducted by Puan Affida Abu Bakar, Senior Librarian from the Education and Research Unit who shared her experience and knowledge on the topic. The session was also attended by Puan Nor Ashikin Ahmad and Cik Rosfadilla Mohamad Zainun, staff members from the UMP Library and Puan Pazilah Hamzah, Senior Manager of Tunku Azizah Knowledge Centre, UNIKL.

The UMP Library manages and administers Turnitin for the university and several library staff are involved in the process. The Education and Research Unit was given the responsibility in overseeing and managing Turnitin to the fullest. The UMP Library also provides various services to staff and students, including access to the Turnitin platform, training and support on how to use the platform, and assistance with submission and assessment processes.

This sharing was a valuable opportunity for staff of Tunku Azizah Knowledge Centre Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UNIKL) to gain insights into the management and administration of Turnitin at UMP. The session also provided an overview on the services provided to staff and students, the budget implications and process, and the challenges and difficulties in managing the platform. It is hoped that the information shared during the session will be useful in improving the management and administration of Turnitin at UNIKL.
