Basic Mobilegraphy Workshop by UMP Library - 15 June 2023

On 15 June 2023, the Library organized a Basic Mobilegraphy Workshop at the Executive Lounge, Library, Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Pekan, Pahang. The trainer for this workshop is Mr. Noor Azhar Abd Rasid, Designer from the Corporate Publications Unit, Corporate Communications Division, Vice Chancellor's Office. Mr. Noor Azhar is well known in the field of photography, he has participated in various competitions at the international level. Recently, his photograph has successfully qualified for the 2nd round at the INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARD 8TH 35AWARDS (out of 104814 participants from 174 countries).

This 1 day workshop was attended by 34 participants from UMP, various departments and external agencies as well as individuals. The objective of this workshop is to expose to users on the types of photography, the basics of mobile photography, photography techniques and photo editing.

The workshop started with an introduction to photography and ways to recognize the features and function of the smartphone. Among the topics touched on in this workshop is the theme of photography and some important basics hacks in photography. Participants were also given mobilegraphy assignments and later it was collected for evaluation by Mr. Noor Azhar.

After lunch break, the evaluation session was done and Mr. Noor Azhar commented on each photo and explained the best technique for each concept. He also shared on how to edit photos that have been taken using the correct methods and ways to maintain the originality of each photo.

Most of the participants who attended this workshop are those who are interested in mobilegraphy as well as those who do photography tasks in their respective departments

According to Mr. Azhar, participants need to know the type of photography they want to focus on in order to master it. Before the workshop ended at 5.00 pm, Mr. Azhar also shared lighting techniques while taking macro photos using an additional macro lens.

Most of the participants in this workshop have also expressed interest in participating for the next Mobilegraphy Workshop if it is held later. It is hoped that the future workshops will attract more participants whose interests lie in the field of Mobile Photography.
