Briefing on The University Archives Management by University Archives Unit at The Busery's Department - 28 July 2023

On 28/07/2023 (Friday). The University Archives Unit (UAU), UMPSA Library held a Briefing Session on University Archives Management at the Bursary's Department and was attended by 62 staff members. The briefing held at the UMPSA Pekan Senate Hall was delivered by Encik Iswan Akim bin Ismail, Head of the University Archives Unit, UMPSA Library, Pekan.

Also present in the session was Administrative Officer Pn. Suhana Mohd Nor present on behalf of the Chief Financial Officer, Financial Officer, Accountant and Treasurer Department staff.

The main objective of this briefing is to provide background information the realization of the Archives Unit at the UMPSA Library. In addition, related explanations on Archive's policies, management of old files, records and ways of disposing of old materials that are also shared. This explanation aims to make it easier for department staff to understand how to manage the files and records.

This briefing session lasted for 2 hours and ended with a question and answer session. After completing the question and answer session, UAU visited the file and record room of the Treasurer's Department and the place reserved for the disposal process of materials to see for themselves the disposal machines available in the Treasurer's Department and the methods of disposal.

UAU welcomes any department, faculty or responsibility center interested in holding a briefing and introduction session on University Archives Management. With a clearer understanding, the record management system in the department, faculty or responsibility center will be more efficient.
