Knowledge Sharing: Pelupusan Record (30 Aug 2021)

UMP Library, 30 August 2021 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang Library conducted a Knowledge Sharing session entitled Disposal of Faculty Records and Center of Responsibility presented by Encik Iswan Akim bin Ismail, Head of the Archives Section of the UMP Library. This knowledge sharing session was conducted online via Google Meet platform from 10.30 am to 11.30 am.

The program was attended by 42 representatives from faculties and centers of responsibilities. Starting with the Introduction of Library Archives, where the establishment of archives is in line with the desire to preserve historical materials and related to the heritage of UMP.

Encik Iswan Akim also explained about the criteria for the selection of archival materials and the archival policy for the implementation of the disposal of archival materials. He also explained in detail about the guidelines and procedures for the disposal of UMP records.

Most of the questions raised by the audience were related to the issue of the filing code. Encik Iswan Akim clarifies that, the Library Archives Unit uses the same file code and code amendments will only be referred to the National Archives of Malaysia.

A second series of sharing sessions related to archives and disposal have been planned and will be conducted in the future to raise awareness and the importance of disposal of records.
